A few have unique bonuses outside of skills-such as Inconspicuous reducing the chance of zombies spotting you or Lucky raising the chance of getting rare loot-but the majority give you a leg up against the hordes in your starting skills. Most positive traits give you some combination of bonuses to your skills. Traits are divided up into positive traits that cost points to have, and negative traits that give you points to spend. Enter an empty house and exit through the other side to escape zombie hordes. Zombies are easily distracted by doors and windows. To escape big hordes, try to break the line of sight and weave in and around nearby houses. The default Shamblers can be easily evaded simply by walking, but things get a little complicated when dozens of them are chasing players. Don’t forget to be stealthy while exploring to prevent zombies from grouping up. Look for hardware stores, tool sheds, garages and any other locations that might logically have tools in them.
